And.. scrolling along! I solved my seemingly impossible programming issue today. I got the camera working with a deadzone. I’ve also been reading this interesting article on 2d cameras and from absorbing all that knowledge, it really looks like one class isn’t going to be able to cover all possible requirements. That’s okay though because most games don’t require such generic camera code, they just require specific functionality. So eventually there will be multiple camera classes catering for all eventualities (well a fair few at least) 😉
We cleaned the cottage today and it wasn’t all that grubby for once. The people had a toddler but it seems that they confined it’s food consumption to the high chair so all good.
Besides that, the day was kind of uneventful apart from my coding success.
